Staying ahead in home care means continuing to learn, asking better questions, and finding new ways to support the people who depend on us.

At Abide Home Care, providing exceptional care isn’t only about what we do today. It’s also about preparing for what’s next.

Three members of Abide’s leadership team recently traveled to Orlando, Florida, for the 2026 Home Care Association of America National Home Care Conference, joining home care leaders, innovators, industry experts, and solution providers from across the country.

Representing Abide were Margaret Morton, Senior Director of Operations; Angie Reichert, Director of Operations; and Debbie Edenfield, Care Quality & Leadership Development Coordinator.

Their goal was simple: learn, connect, and bring home ideas that can help Abide continue improving the way we support our clients, caregivers, and local teams across Georgia.

Learning What’s Next in Home Care

The Home Care Association of America National Home Care Conference brought together more than 800 attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and speakers for two days focused on the opportunities and challenges shaping home care today. Home Care Association of America

Educational sessions explored issues ranging from caregiver recruitment and retention to employment law, referral marketing, technology, artificial intelligence, client experience, leadership development, regulatory changes, and the systems agencies need to grow successfully. For Abide’s leadership team, those conversations provide an opportunity to look beyond the day-to-day demands of home care and ask an important question:

How can we do what we do even better?

Finding Better Systems to Support Better Care

Some of the most valuable learning doesn’t happen only inside a conference session.

The HCAOA conference also brings home care leaders face-to-face with companies developing technology, services, and operational solutions specifically for the home care industry. The conference’s vendor exhibit was designed to give agency leaders direct access to providers serving home care organizations and opportunities to compare solutions in one place. For an organization like Abide Home Care, that matters.

Better workflows can mean less time spent navigating unnecessary processes. Better technology can improve communication and access to information. Better recruiting and retention strategies can strengthen the teams caring for our clients.

And better systems behind the scenes can help our people spend more time focused on what matters most: people.

Investing in Leadership at Abide Home Care

Margaret, Angie, and Debbie each approached the conference through a different leadership lens.

From operations and organizational systems to care quality and leadership development, their roles touch many of the people and processes that keep Abide moving forward.

Bringing those perspectives together allows new ideas to be evaluated not simply because they’re new, but because they may genuinely improve the experience of our caregivers, clients, families, and regional teams.

That is an important distinction.

Innovation isn’t about chasing every new trend. It’s about understanding what’s changing in our industry, learning from other home care professionals, evaluating new resources, and determining which ideas can help us serve people better.

Bringing What We Learn Back Home to Georgia

The conference may have taken place in Orlando, but the real value of attending comes afterward.

Abide Home Care serves communities throughout Georgia, and continued education at the leadership level helps strengthen the systems supporting those local teams.

Whether it’s discovering a smarter workflow, learning about emerging technology, gaining insight into caregiver retention, strengthening leadership development, or simply hearing how another organization solved a familiar challenge, every useful idea creates an opportunity to improve.

At Abide Home Care we are proud of Margaret, Angie, and Debbie for representing Abide, investing in their own leadership, and continuing to look for ways to make our organization stronger.

Because providing great home care requires more than keeping up with today.

It means preparing for tomorrow.
